We provide a child friendly service and environment and our staff have extensive experience in child health and related illnesses.
WE ARE ADVOCATES OF CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATION
Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting your child against certain diseases. The risks from having these diseases are far greater than the risk of any minor side effects from immunisation (HSE 2011).
Your Baby's vaccination/immunisations are generally administered by the Practice Nurse. The vaccines are given according to the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland. Your nurse will talk you through the procedure and answer any questions you may have. We will also provide you with written information on each vaccine published by the HSE.
Thankfully all childhood vaccines are free in Ireland and the following schedule is recommended;
- B.C.G is given at birth in your local health centre or hospital
- 6 in 1 & Meningococcal C is given at 4 Months
- 6 in 1 & PCV & Meningococcal C is given at 6 Months
- MMR & PCV is given at 12 Months
- Meningococcal C & HIB is given at 13 Months
Please note that the six in one consists of:
- Diphteria
- Tetanus
- Whooping Cough
- Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae B)
- Polio (Inactivated Poliomyelitis) Hepatitis B
- PCV is the Pneumococcal vaccine
Further vaccinations will be administered in schools thereafter. Vaccines given are documented electronically and reports returned to the HSE. If you require a copy of the vaccines given then we can print you a copy of same.

- Feeding Issues, either breast or bottle-feeding
- Comforting a colicky baby / reflux
- Weaning / Spoon Feeding
- Supplementation with Vitamin D3
- Management of skin irritations / conditions
- Childhood asthma management
